New
appointment signals continuing growth of Fife Chamber
FIFE
Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Claire
Owens, its new Marketing and Recruitment Executive. Claire will
help the Chamber to revitalise its services offering and in its
membership drive.
Claire
is originally from Star and now stays in Windygates, Fife with
her husband Michael and dog called Bear. In her spare time she
is an active participant in amateur theatre, enjoys singing,
snowboarding, walking and cooking.
She
previously worked for Fife Society for the Blind, with its
commercial subsidiary company - FSB Enterprises. She was there
for three and a half years as a Business Development Manager
assisting businesses to become DDA compliant through training,
transcription and access consultancy. In this post an ability
to communicate effectively at all levels, and in particular
with the deaf community (in British sign language) was
imperative.
Prior
to that, Claire was employed as a Customer Relations &
Project Executive at Lauder College’s BLCC for eight and a half
years.
Claire
says: “ I decided that I wanted to work for Fife Chamber as I
felt that my skills, enthusiasm and energy could really help
the Chamber move forward, develop and continue to grow. I am
delighted to have started my job and am relishing the challenge
– it is a very exciting time.”
Claire’s
role as Marketing and Recruitment Executive means that she is
responsible for growing the Chamber’s membership, implementing
new ideas, ensuring all areas of the Chamber are marketed
appropriately, streamlining member services and ensuring all
round customer satisfaction.
Alan
Russell, Chief Executive, Fife Chamber says: “ Fife Chamber is
entering into a new and challenging phase of development. I am
delighted to welcome Claire on board and look forward to the
positive impact that I am sure Claire will have on member
services and on raising the Chamber’s profile among businesses
and to wider audiences. Claire has a great deal of experience
in working at the forefront of a customer-focused environment
and will deliver a high-quality service to businesses. “
Fife
Chamber works to contribute positively to the Fife economy by
representing its members’ interests, engaging with businesses
of all types, identifying and debating issues affecting the
Fife economy and lobbying locally and nationally to help
resolve business concerns.
