Dunfermline Press Scholarship Initiative
This summer the Shell operated Fife Natural Gas Liquids Plant (Fife NGL) at Mossmorran and the nearby Braefoot Bay Loading Terminal celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary.
The Fife NGL Plant plays a key role in maximising the value of the North Sea's natural resources. The overall purpose of the plant is to separate the incoming mix of NGLs into their commercially tradeable components, which are then exported to other plants in the vicinity or to international customers.
As result of processing a new generation of gas from Norway via the Statfjord field a rejuvenation programme, which Shell has been implementing over the last three years, will extend the life cycle of the plant at Mossmorran, as well as that of the Braefoot Bay Loading Terminal, to 2021 and beyond.
To mark the silver jubilee Shell has become the inaugural sponsor of Dunfermline Press Scholarship Initiative providing five two-year HNC/HND engineering scholarships at Carnegie College worth a total of £20,000. This sponsorship is an addition to the active community relations programme of the Fife NGL Plant.
Individuals interested in finding out more about the FNGL community relations programme should contact Lena Bonekamp, who works in Shell's Communications Department in Aberdeen and can be contacted on 01224 882000.
