The Big Green Footprint Scheme
Employers across Fife can help look after the countryside on their doorstep and boost their green credentials, through an innovative scheme launched by Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) this week.
The Big Green Footprint Scheme allows businesses and their staff to support the work carried out by the Trust by either donating cash or kind.
The Trust is responsible for managing and conserving 70 countryside and natural resource sites, including the region's award winning coastal path.
Amanda McFarlane, FCCT Chief Executive, explained that this initiative is a way of demonstrating a companies green credentials and commitment to their local community. She also added that "It is a simple, but an effective way for businesses to get involved with what is happening at ground level to help sustain Fife's amazing countryside and biodiversity. Each business can choose its own method of support, whether it be from staff volunteering days or an opt out donation on a service".
The Scheme has already attracted businesses such as Visit Scotland, Fife Council, Adam Smith College, Sky, Kingdom FM, Hardies Property and Construction Consultants, Paterson Boyd & Co, Fairmont Hotel and the Fife Free Press Group who are acting as Ambassadors.
During the launch Ambassadors were presented with a certificate by Trust Chairman Robert Balfour.
