Business Bankers Do Their Bit for the Local Environment
A group of Fife business bankers are swapping ledgers and laptops for shovels and spades on Tuesday as they attempt to plant 400 trees on a hillside above the Fife Coastal Path.
The Bank of Scotland's team of Commercial Banking Managers in Fife are committing a day to the project to carry the plants and tools to the location, mark out the plot, dig in the trees and secure protective tube-guards.
Shona Austin, Bank of Scotland's Senior Commercial Manager for Fife, said: "We wanted to do something worthwhile as a team activity, where we could support one of our customers - the Fife Coast and Countryside Trust - and at the same time do something of benefit to the community.
"We are working together with CLEAR Buckhaven who are endeavouring to create a new woodland plot just south of Buckhaven. We've purchased the saplings and nine of us will spend a full day with the team at CLEAR to ensure we make a good job of being amateur environmentalists."
Bank of Scotland aims to make a tangible difference to the communities where we live and work and we encourage teams to pursue activities in their local area which really matter to them.
