Exporting to Europe – It’s Plane Sailing

With Sterling continuing at a relatively low level against the Euro, conditions for trading in the Eurozone are believed to favour UK businesses. Economic recovery has commenced in many European countries ahead of the UK economy and this in itself can present opportunities for business to explore the market and source potential new customers.

DFDS Seaways who recently took over the running of the Ferry Service from Rosyth to Zeebrugge announced that it is to expand the freight operation on the route and will be allocating an additional vessel to allow 4 sailings a week. The service provides a direct link to the market in West Flanders, Belgium and beyond. This seminar will bring you some of the detailed information on how that link could lead you to new market opportunities.

Under the banner of the Fife Economy Partnership, Fife Council, Fife Chamber of Commerce and The Federation of Small Businesses have entered into discussions with the authorities and business organisations in West Flanders with a view to developing mutually beneficial arrangements for joint business development between the two regions and support will be available to assist businesses to prepare plans and explore the opportunities that exist. This seminar will provide an opportunity to find out about the forthcoming changes being introduced by DFDS and Forth Ports as well as examine opportunities relating to the food, logistics and other sectors. The timetable and key speakers for the seminar are outlined below.
