AttFife launch new gallery for Glenrothes
Arts and Theatres Trust Fife (AttFife) is celebrating the successful launch of a brand-new, contemporary visual arts space at its Rothes Halls venue in Glenrothes. The gallery, known as "fifespace", was officially launched by Cllr Brian Goodall on 17th February.
fifespace will give the public new opportunities to experience and participate in the work of artists and photographers, with new exhibitions being launched every six weeks.
Work on preparing the space was undertaken throughout January, including re-flooring, re-cladding the walls, and the installation of a specialist artwork hanging system. A state-of-the-art projection system will allow exhibitions to feature moving images.
Frank Chinn, chief executive of AttFife, said: "Rothes Halls has a history of opening up culture to the community, and we see fifespace continuing that tradition, by becoming the region's premier contemporary visual arts space. It's our goal to encourage participation in the arts across the region, and we intend for fifespace to play a major role in bringing the most exciting visual art to the people of Fife."
Access is via the stairs at the Rothes Halls Box Office. The gallery is open to the public daily and entry is free, so why not come along and see for yourself!
