Modern Apprenticeships Campaign Launch
A national campaign to promote Modern Apprenticeships and raise awareness of the new £1000 grant available to businesses has been launched by Education and Lifelong Learning Secretary Michael Russell.
Scottish businesses of all sizes and in all sectors are to be given the opportunity to receive £1000 to take on a new Apprentice in a bid to encourage continued business investment in Scotland's future workforce.
This will benefit hard working companies and employers who continue to fight the effects of the recession. It will also provide increased training opportunities to thousands of individuals across Scotland.
Damien Yeates, Chief Executive of Skills Development Scotland, said: "Modern Apprenticeships deliver key vocational skills needed by the Scottish economy.
"For many years businesses have benefited from motivated and capable trainees and it's very encouraging that yet more people and organisations will be able to make use of the scheme through the new Modern Apprenticeships grant."
Modern Apprenticeships training equips your existing and newly recruited people with the skills and qualifications they need to build their career AND strengthen the skill-set of your business in the short and long-term. Grants of £1000 per apprentice are available from 11th January until 26th March 2010.
