The Big Green Footprint Scheme
The Old Rectory Inn, Dysart has stamped its approval of the work being carried out by Fife Coast and Countryside Trust by becoming a member of its Big Green Footprint Scheme.
The Old Rectory Inn owner, Spencer Barrie said "" we are delighted to be associated with the Big Green Footprint Scheme and will be supporting it in a variety of ways starting this month with the creation of "Big Green Sundae" by Chef Peter Rankin. We will be donating 50% from the sale of each dessert purchased by our customers and we know they will be just as enthusiastic to help support this initiative as are all the Staff at The Old Rectory."
FCCT Marketing Officer stated "the Big Green Footprint initiative is a way of demonstrating a companies green credentials and commitment to their local community. It is a simple, but an effective way for businesses to get involved with what is happening at ground level to help sustain Fife's amazing countryside and biodiversity. Each business can choose its own method of support, whether it be from staff volunteering days, or as the Old Rectory have demonstrated, a donation from every "Big Green Sundae" dessert sold.
She also went on to state that, Fife's countryside makes an important contribution to the quality of life of local communities and is a key component of the regions tourism industry. The Trust is dedicated to making Fife's countryside accessible for all".
The Big Green Footprint Scheme was launched at the end of April and so far several businesses have signed up to support Fife's countryside.
