Famous Faces Flock to Fairmont St Andrews
Fairmont St Andrews has had an exciting week as the British Open 2010 has been hosted in the quaint Home of Golf. The resort was ecstatic to play host to the Open qualifier 2010 with Zane Scotland winning himself a place into the tournament.
During the Open, Fairmont St Andrews has become a must-visit destination for some of the biggest names in golf. A host of the game's stars have converged on our five-star resort as part of their preparation for the Open Championship. Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, Hunter Mahan, John Daly, Sam Torrance, Tom Lehman and Geoff Ogilvy have all visited.
Rose and Mahan were both visited by Golf Monthly during their stays for photo shoots and interviews, while Torrance was here for two days for an instructional shoot with Golf International. Poulter enjoyed three days at the resort alongside Rose, while Daly was an unexpected visitor as he turned up un-announced at a corporate golf day and joined in an exhibition alongside former Ryder Cup captains Torrance and Lehman. Past Open Champion Lee Trevino just popped in for a round on the Torrance with his son! What a fantastic week for Fairmont St Andrews.
