Fife Accountant Scoops National Award

Managing Partner Alan Thomson and Elaine Cromwell

Elaine Cromwell, Associate with award winning Dunfermline firm Thomson Cooper has been recognised as the Accountant of the Year by leading accountancy software providers Sage at their inaugural awards ceremony. Held at the British Museum London on Wednesday 21st July, the Sage Connect 2010 event aimed to recognise and celebrate the achievements of accountants in practice and the contribution they make to UK businesses.

The Judging panel, comprising of independent industry experts and Sage senior management commented that ‘Feedback from Elaine's clients is outstanding. Elaine really does apply unique approaches to client services.' They were impressed by Elaine's determination to help her clients maximise the effectiveness of their Sage packages and improve their knowledge through workshops, training, podcasts and a user forum. She also contributed significantly to Sage's Customer Involvement Programme. This is a platform that aims to gather feedback on how the products could be enhanced from accountants who use the software extensively in industry.

On hearing of her win Elaine commented, "I am absolutely thrilled to have been selected as Sage's Accountant of the Year. It's a great honour to be recognised in this way. I believe that by working together, Sage and their Accounting Partners can consistently and continuously improve the end user experience at a level that is beyond all other competitors."

Thomson Cooper's Managing Partner Alan Thomson is thrilled with this latest achievement, "We are immensely proud that Elaine's Sage expertise has been rewarded with this prestigious award. This latest award success follows hot on the heels of the firm's Best Small Firm win at the 2010 Scottish Accountancy Awards.
