Start-up Success for Fife Business Woman
Mandy Smart won the Carnegie College Small Business Gateway Award after her first, very successful, year of business. Mandy received the award from Jim Driver, MD of Business Gateway at Carnegie College -Methil Campus. She attended a Self Employment Training for Work course which includes an ‘Optimise your Life' workshop designed and delivered by peak performance coach, Martin Murphy.
Mandy, seen pictured here with course advisors Anne Moffatt and Martin Murphy, opened her very popular, Ultimate Passions Retail Store on Leven High Street. Mandy specialises in selling Lingerie, High Heeled Footwear, Jewellery, Fancy Dress and Party Plans.
She said "the advice and information I received, helped me with all aspects of business start up. The Optimise workshop run by Martin helped me understand how I tick and how to get the most from my abilities. Martin also coached me personally on aspects of effective staff coaching as the business is growing."
Course tutor Anne Moffatt said "the course is designed to empower people with the skills and the confidence to start up their own business and Mandy is an incredible example of what can be achieved with advice, support and encouragement and most importantly - self belief."
