Fife Women in Business Awards - 2010
The annual awards ceremony for Fife Women in Business was held at the Gilvenbank Hotel in Glenrothes on 19th April. The event was very well attended with a number of impressive entrants who were nominated for the three main awards.
The Young Business of the Year award went to Lauriston Nursery in Dunfermline, received by the Managing Director, Jacqui Crush. The business, which opened just over a year ago, is at the forefront of curriculum development and takes pride in their flexibility and desire to actively involve parents with decision making within the nursery. Twelve of Jacqui's team attended the event.
The Most Enterprising Business award, sponsored by new Chamber member G S Insurance Services Ltd, was won by Alison Smith Consulting. Alison provides a considerable breadth of consultancy and coaching services to businesses and individuals.
The third award, for Oor Star O'Fife, sponsored by CCW Legal, was won by Brenda Buchanan. This is in recognition of her considerable work in the community, particularly the provision of after school care which she manages to fit into her busy schedule running Owen Buchanan Builders in Lochgelly.
