Goods to Market - A Business Seminar
Manufacturing is a key element of the Fife economy and if the UK is to tackle current problems and achieve sustainable growth it is manufacturing that will lead the way. Despite well publicised problems within the euro-zone, there are still opportunities to develop current export markets, to explore new areas and source potential new customers.
Under the banner of the Fife Economy Partnership, Fife Council is working to support manufacturing businesses to explore and exploit the opportunities associated with UK and international trade. This was identified as a key area during the on-going work to develop a manufacturing Action Plan and will form the basis of a much more comprehensive exporting event (open to all manufacturing businesses in Fife) in March/April 2012.
This seminar will provide an opportunity to find out about getting goods to market, the key issues and opportunities with respect to logistics, how to overcome barriers to exporting and share knowledge with other manufacturing companies in Fife to benefit from their experience. It will also allow you to find out about the proposal for creating a consolidation site at Rosyth and explore the opportunities for future UK and international collaboration. It will provide you with the detailed information on the logistics of getting goods to market, opportunities for collaboration/consolidation, allow you to find out about the support currently available and identify and develop international links that could lead you to new market opportunities.
Staff from all of the stakeholder organisations including Scottish Development International and SMAS will be attending the event.
