Behind the Scenes
Stagecoach are inviting you to a behind the scenes event at their Glenrothes depot, to celebrate 40 years of the site and to highlight the latest developments in fleet and operations.
The bus and coach fleet has come a long way since 1985, with the depot benefitting from over £5.5m in vehicle investments and infrastructure over the last 8 months, including a fleet of six fully electric buses for Kirkcaldy town services and seven double deck coaches running between Fife and Glasgow.
Stagecoach East Scotland now operates 40 EVs across its network, with another 46 buses joining various East Scotland depots this summer. Glenrothes is now the third Stagecoach depot in East Scotland to feature EV charging infrastructure, with Dunfermline and Perth depots already running a fully electric fleet on the city networks.
The introduction of electric vehicles and infrastructure brings additional staff training and improved skillsets, as well as a quieter, smoother journey for passengers, and the new double deck coaches have increased capacity on Stagecoach's Express City network.
Stagecoach are inviting you to join a networking event at their Glenrothes depot to learn more about these significant developments in public transport in the area, as well as raising important topics such as public safety, technology, customer focus and performance.
You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how the bus depot runs, check out our newest buses up close, and have the chance to chat and network—on a bus!
