Sccottish Government Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy and Tourism
With businesses across mainland Scotland now plunged into another hugely damaging lockdown it is absolutely critical that the Scottish Government takes all the steps necessary through speedy vaccine roll out and improved test and trace capacity to make it as short as possible, whilst providing a clear timetable for the ending of restrictions and the return to normal trading. We also urgently need the Scottish Government and the UK Treasury to produce a long-term business support framework and strategy to replace their current ad-hoc and short-term financial interventions, so that businesses don’t just survive lockdown but can plan and prepare for recovery with confidence.
Fergus Ewing’s brief includes the vital tourism sector, which is a sector that has been hit harder than most by business restrictions, with a dramatic impact on its fortunes and its large supply chain across Fife. With a joint Scottish Government and industry recovery plan in place for the sector, this is a perfect opportunity to explain to the Cabinet Secretary how your business is being impacted by covid and how the Scottish Government can best help you get through the next few months.
