Disabilities Fife - Promoting Solutions for Independent Living

5th April 2016

Disabilities Fife, a registered Charity, is run by disabled people for disabled people. We work to improve access to services and equality of opportunity for all disabled people in Fife.

Members from all over Fife come together several times per year to discuss disability issues and raise concerns. Inidividual members are also involved in a number of consultative groups, generally with statutory bodies such as NHS Fife, Fife Council and even the Scottish Government.

What does Disabilities Fife do?

  • Provision of information
  • Research and campaigning
  • Involvement in Consultations
  • Community Action
  • Work to improve public transport
  • Help line
  • Radar keys
  • Signposting
  • Opportunities to meet with other people who have a disability
  • Reimburse members travel expenses to meetings

Membership of the organisation is free and entitles members to regular mailings, information and the quarterly newsletter.

It also gives service users information about opportunities to join with others to have their voices heard to improve the services they receive - for example, access to information, homecare, daycare, occupational therapy services - to make them more suitable to our needs.
