Scottish executive development specialists Ogilvie Ross LLP have launched an initiative which allows SMEs to take advantage of training programmes that have been tried and tested with some of the world’s major corporates.

Perthshire executive development specialists, Ogilvie Ross, have appointed two new partners to support their growing Scottish client base. Major contract awards from Scottish Enterprise, sportscotland and Standard Life contributed to a 35% revenue growth in 2016. Greta Hart Montgomery has a background in developing high performance teams in both business and sport. A former American college basketball coach, Greta works with corporate, community sector and sports organisations to help them maximise staff effectiveness and improve team performance. Gavin Docherty specialises in strategic leadership development and change management and was part of the 2014 Commonwealth Game and Ryder Cup deliver teams.

Based in Kinross, Ogilvie Ross has worked for many years on helping senior personnel such as CEOs and Managing Directors to develop business skills that range from identifying business opportunities to being effective communicators.

Now the company, which has clients in the UK, Europe, USA and Middle East, is offering its Commercial Capabilities programme to owner-managers of smaller businesses who may be proficient in their core skills but who require additional guidance to grow their business.

The programme comprises six one-day modules costing £350 each and participants can sign up for as many as they require, depending on their requirements. . Each module is run four times a year with two training centres in Fife & Glasgow. Participants can attend individual modules or enrol in The Commercial Capabilities Academy. The Academy is 6-12 month programme that covers all main modules with additional individual support throughout.

The modules cover:

Negotiating contracts & pricing, constructing arguments that influence people, identifying & taking advantage of new business opportunities, how to be a confident communicator, including public speaking, how to handle crisis management issues effectively and how to be a ‘podium finisher’ and achieve real success.

Each of the modules draws on the company’s successful track record working with senior executives within the corporate, public, community enterprise and sports development sectors.
