Kirkcaldy Careers Centre opens it's doors

24th May 2017

Events include session for parents

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is hosting two special events at its Kirkcaldy Centre in Whytescauseway on Tuesday 13 June.

The new-look careers centre is encouraging local people to visit and find out more about the range services on offer. The first session runs from 10am to 3pm and is primarily aimed at young people in the area but all are welcome.

SDS careers adviser Julie Lautredou said: “We hope people will take the opportunity to look around the centre and speak to advisers, get information on what is available and get help with job searches, CVs and completing applications.

“Its the perfect time to find out about the different services our advisers can offer, including coaching and guidance, redundancy support, CV and interview workshops and how we work with other local organisations and partners to offer an all round supportive service”.

Parents and carers can drop in from 4pm to 7pm to find out about what SDS can offer young people as they move on from school. This includes information on college, university, jobs, training opportunities and apprenticeships.

Julie added: “There will also be the chance to use our award-winning career information web service www.myworldofwork.co.uk, including the special section for parents and careers which has lots of really valuable information.

“If people can’t make along on the day, we are open from Monday, Tuesday, Thursday to Friday from 9am until 5pm and Wednesday from 10am until 5pm.

Details are available on SDS’s Fife Facebook page at facebook.com/SDSFife or by calling 01592 645180.
