2018 Fife Business Awards open for entries

7th September 2017

The 2018 Fife Business Awards are now underway, with aspiring local businesses having until Friday 27th October to submit their applications to be recognised as one of Fife’s finest.

The awards highlight successful Fife businesses of all sizes and from all sectors, celebrating the strength in depth of the Kingdom’s business community.

After a record number of high-quality applications for the 2017 awards set the bar so high, the judging panels are preparing for another big challenge to select the category winners.

The 11 categories are:

  • Most Enterprising Start-Up Company
  • Best Performing Business (Under 50 Employees)
  • Best Performing Business (Over 50 Employees)
  • Developing the Young Workforce
  • Excellence in People Development
  • Success through Sustainability
  • Excellence in Tourism Award
  • Excellence in Customer Service
  • Success through Innovation
  • Excellence in Food & Drink
  • Success through UK and International Trade

The businesses that triumphed in 2017 have enjoyed powerful benefits following their success:

Sharon Menzies, Influx

Winner of the 2017 Most Enterprising Start-Up award

“This was our first award win and very special. We entered to improve our brand awareness and the win was a great business achievement and such a moral boost for everyone.

“I would recommend others to apply as it sends out a positive message and is a great opportunity for exposure. What do you have to lose?”

Liz Waugh, Kettle Produce

Winner of the 2017 Success through Sustainability award

“We submitted our application in the hope of further promoting our business locally and enhancing staff morale. Winning certainly achieved these! We have received local recognition for winning our award and there has been a great buzz within our people.

“On that back of our win we decided to sponsor this year’s Success through Sustainability award and help encourage other great businesses in Fife to apply.”

Winners will be announced at a glitzy awards ceremony to be held on Friday 23rd March at the Glen Pavilion in Dunfermline, with returning host Grant Stott reprising his role as master of ceremonies.

Grant said:

“I had a great time at the awards last year and I’m delighted to have been invited back to host them again in 2018. I’m not sure if I’ll get away with singing “That’s Fife” two years in a row, but if the demand is there….you never know!!”

Fife Chamber President Peter Southcott said:

“The unprecedented quality and quantity of award applications we received last year made it difficult for the judges to choose winners and made the awards all the more meaningful for the deserving recipients.

“Knowing that there are many companies in Fife with great business stories and successes to share I expect this will also be the case for this year’s awards.

“I encourage them all to submit an application and make Fife proud of what its fantastic businesses are doing.”

Fife Economy Partnership return as the event’s Principal Sponsor.
