Presidents Update - February 2018

16th February 2018

Spring is shaping up to be a busy time as we take new opportunities to keep members’ needs at the forefront of government decisions and look forward to more exciting events.

I am hosting meetings in April and May between members and two senior figures from the Scottish Government. We are meeting The Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Minister for Business, Innovation and Energy and I want them to know exactly what Chamber members expect from the Scottish Government, so if you have any specific questions you would like us to ask them or particular points you would like us to raise on your behalf, please contact Alan.

I am also looking forward to hearing a Brexit update from Adam Marshall from the British Chambers of Commerce at our AGM Lunch in May.

The Fife Business Awards is always one of my highlights of the year and we have another spectacular night of celebration and entertainment in prospect at the end of March. The finalists are a credit to Fife and demonstrate how wide and deep the Kingdom’s business talent is. It is a great occasion and I hope that you can join me at the Glen Pavilion to experience it.

We have more inspiring speakers for you as we roll out our next Fife Learn programme. Schuh and Amazon share a focus on delivering a great experience for their customers and Master Classes from these two hugely successful companies will present us all with new ideas.

It isn’t just Master Class speakers who can help business learning in Fife. Chamber members can as well by sharing their knowledge with each other, so when you get the call from the Chamber team asking you if you can be part of the programme, say “yes”. Your experiences can make a big difference to fellow members.

Many of our newer members may not have experienced a Chamber event before but those of us who have already know what great occasions they are, so when you meet a new member for the first time, make sure to tell them.

Thank you for your continued support for Fife Chamber.
