Meet the Buyer Event with Babcock International Group is on 26th November

Heathrow is Europe’s largest airport and one of the world’s top international aviation hubs. As the UK’s global gateway, Heathrow welcomes more than 80 million passengers every year. The airport is home to more than 80 airlines and is Britain’s largest cargo port, helping to drive British trade growth by connecting the nation to more than 200 destinations around the world.

Delivering Heathrow expansion is a major infrastructure project that will rely on talent from across the country, hence they are locating four logistics hubs – off-site centres for pre-assembly and consolidation – across the country, to help deliver expansion efficiently, sustainably, and to source the skills needed to expand from all across the UK.

Babcock International Group, a leading provider of critical, complex engineering services which support national defence, save lives and protect communities, will be submitting a bid to be considered for one of the 4 logistics hubs to help deliver the expanded airport. A Meet the Buyer Event, in partnership with Fife Council Economic Development, has been organised to take place on 26th November at the Carnegie Conference Centre to engage with companies across Scotland who may be able to provide the following types of services:

• Packaging Solutions i.e. pallets, transportation containers, labelling & tracking systems etc.
• Storage Accessories i.e. warehouse & industrial racking systems
• Salvage/Recycling i.e. reuse of demolition materials
• Specialist Glass/Glazing handling and storage
