Developing the Young Workforce launches 2020 Summer Leavers programme

30th June 2020

Developing the Young Workforce (DWY) has created an online portal called E-DYW and organised a series of online events for young people, educators, employers and parents that will help young people across Fife and Scotland who are leaving school this summer to take their next steps in life. Coronavirus has impacted everyone but it is recognised that young people are particularly at risk from the economic fallout from the virus lockdown, so giving them information and skills that will help them in their search for a job is vital.

In addition to all the resources on the E-DYW online portal, young people and their parents and carers will be able to get more useful information through Scotland’s Biggest Parents’ Event. There will be four online events during the summer, with the first one taking place on Tuesday 7th July 2020.

Business is also playing its part by contributing to the DYW Skills Academy: Get Industry Ready, a series of activities and virtual experiences taking place over July and August to help get young people ready to enter the labour market. It includes industry insights and skills sessions.
