Family Business Extends its Services with a Cardboard Baler

7th July 2021

When people think about data protection, it’s usually digital data that springs to mind, especially with high-profile cases of hacking and data loss appearing in the news.

After the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was introduced in 2018, businesses often focussed on the impact of the new requirements on their computer systems and procedures.

Equally important, however, is the retention and destruction of paper records. If your business keeps any information on paper that contains confidential, personal or sensitive material, these documents have to be kept and destroyed in a way that complies with GDPR. As well as information which is obviously confidential, this includes any information that can identify an individual such as a name, address or telephone number.

Secureshred Scotland can uplift, shred and recycle confidential papers, from invoices to client and employee records. The family firm has recently added to the service they offer business, by purchasing a cardboard baler.

Balers, also known as cardboard compactors, are designed to compress empty cardboard boxes or other bulk packaging materials down into bales or bundles.

This new piece of equipment has allowed the firm to employ an extra member of the team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the baler.

After a tough time during lockdown, things are certainly looking up for the Secureshred Scotland team and their clients.
