Sam's Wellbeing on Wheels finally hits the road

15th June 2021

The Sam’s Wellbeing on Wheels initiative launched today at Halbeath Park and Ride.

Fife-based mental health drop in service, Sam’s, is hosting wellbeing events across the Kingdom this week in partnership with Stagecoach East Scotland. Kirkcaldy community radio station, K107 FM, is also providing their support to the initiative.

Local communities are invited to stop by the Sam’s Wellbeing on Wheels bus in the same way they would at a normal Sam’s drop-in service – no appointment or referral is necessary.

The mental health service which is provided by SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health), hosts Sam’s Café drop-in sessions for anyone struggling with their mental health, experiencing suicidal thoughts, or seeking support in Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline and Leven.

Peer support workers from Scotland’s mental health charity have personal experience of mental ill health, and are trained and employed to help others.

You can find the Sam’s Wellbeing on Wheels bus at various locations across Fife this week, with sessions running from 1030 – 1430:

· Tuesday 15th June – Kirkcaldy Town House

· Wednesday 16th June – Leven Bus Station

· Thursday 17th June – Glenrothes Bus Station

· Friday 18th June – St Andrews Bus Station
