Precious Pets to Paws-itively make a difference to Maggie’s

Maggie’s Fife are asking supporters to enter their pet into their unique online photo competition, Precious Pets, for the chance to win exclusive prizes.

Supporters can enter their pets through JustGiving for £5 per animal and, following a voting process, the top three pets will win prizes.

Maggie’s Fife hopes this will help raise vital funds to help them support people with cancer and their friends and family in Fife, while also bringing a smile to people’s faces.

Pets can bring such comfort and Maggie’s wants to celebrate our animal companions who may have helped us through the difficulties of the past year.

Alison Allan, Centre Head says: “In our centres we often have dogs visiting with their owners. The wagging tails, big smiles and pure joy of both dog and human is always heart-warming to see, especially if they have recently been reunited following a spell in hospital. As much of our support has been taking place online during the pandemic, there has been many instances of cats leaping into view to make a guest appearance too. It’s clear that pets have been a real source of comfort during difficult times, particularly through a period of isolation for many.”

The entry stage of the competition will run from March 15 – 29, with a registration fee of £5 per pet. Supporters can enter their pet by following the instructions on the JustGiving Page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/maggies-fife-precious-pets

Voting will commence on March 29 and finish on April 8. Maggie’s are asking for £2 per vote to help with their fundraising. Voting will take place on the JustGiving Page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/maggies-fife-precious-pets

The ten pets with the most votes will then go on to be judged by our expert panel and winners will be selected. First, second and third place will receive a special prize courtesy of our competition partners J&T Rogers – Cupar Pet Shop and Burns Pet Nutrition.

Naturally, we’re expecting lots of cats and dogs, but as the competition is open to all animals, we’re hoping for a few surprises too.
