Fife Business Awards finalists meet up ahead of ceremony

There was a mix of excitement and nervousness in the Chamber team when we arrived at the DoubleTree by Hilton to start setting up for the Fife Business Awards Finalists Reception later that evening.

Excited because everybody in the team enjoys being at the events so much.  It doesn’t get better than being in a ‘buzzy’ room with nearly a hundred people with a shared passion meeting each other and talking to each other.

Amazon to create new full-time apprentices in Scotland

Amazon announced plans today to create over 1,000 full-time apprenticeship roles in the UK over the next two years, with over 30 available in Scotland. Applications are open from the first week of March

A new £500,000 state-of-the-art Training and Enterprise Hub within Kincardine is boosting the area’s economic prospects. The Hub is a ‘game changing moment’ for the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, which, for almost 20 years, has been supporting and improving the lives of the half-a-million people who live in Scotland’s coalfields communities.

New innovative parking product coming to Edinburgh Airport

An innovative new service which uses the latest technology will put valet parking at heart of Edinburgh Airport’s parking approach to use its space more efficiently.

The airport is investing £12 million in the new service which will see a dedicated facility being built on the current surface car park and an additional 5000 parking spaces being provided by 2021.

University of Dundee to provide new Graduate Apprenticeship opportunities

The University of Dundee has been selected to provide Graduate Apprenticeships as part of a major collaboration with Skills Development Scotland (SDS).

A total of 110 places are to be funded by the skills provider, with the University working in partnership with employers to provide qualifications in subjects covering Business, Civil and Manufacturing Engineering, IT and Software.

Dunfermline pupils give Amazon tours the thumbs up

More than 150 pupils from schools across Dunfermline experienced the new-look, behind the scenes tour at the Amazon fulfilment centre in the town this week. 

As part of an expanded tours programme that reaches across the UK from today, Amazon is inviting hundreds of school children to visit its fulfilment centres to see what happens when you click ‘buy’.
