Coronavirus Business Support Fund closed to new applications on 10th July

Fife Council administers the Coronavirus Business Support Fund on behalf of the Scottish Government. It consists of the Small Business Grant Fund and the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund, with grants of between £10000 and £25000 available and additional grants for business ratepayers with multiple properties.

Developing the Young Workforce in Fife (DYW Fife) is delighted to launch its new app to help young people to dive into the world of work, from wherever they are.

Delivering as part of the Government’s employability strategy, DYW (Fife) is the employer led, regional group, set up in Fife to create stronger connections between local employers, education and young people and better prepare young people for the world of work.

Fife Chamber Director joins National Partnership for Culture Board

A new group formed to deliver Scotland’s culture strategy which includes Fife Chamber director Heather Stuart from Fife Cultural Trust. 

The National Partnership for Culture (NPC) is made up of 14 experts from across Scotland’s culture sector. The group will advise on challenges facing the culture sector from coronavirus (COVID-19) and will build on the recommendations recently set out to the First Minister by the Advisory Group on Economic Recovery.

Developing the Young Workforce launches 2020 Summer Leavers programme

Advisory Group on Economic Recovery submits proposals to transform Scotland’s economy

As the Scottish Government announces further dates for re-opening key parts of the economy, the Advisory Group that it set up to recommend measures to rebuild Scotland’s economy following Covid-19 has published its report.  It has made 25 specific recommendations to bring about the “bold, radical interventions” it believes are needed to “transform Scotland’s economy”, as well as build readiness to deal with the next “cataclysmic disruption” that it says will “inevitably arrive” for current or future generations.

A word of thanks from CHAS

Despite the ongoing pandemic CHAS hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch, remain open for emergency and end of life care. Additionally, in response to Covid-19 they are also doing something completely new for our families. They have created the UK’s first Virtual Children’s Hospice. Many CHAS families are shielding, so while they can’t come to the hospice, CHAS can take the hospice to them.
