Role outline and Purpose
The Food bank Community Engagement Officer is responsible for developing the food bank’s capacity to organise and campaign for change and contribute to the development of fundraising. You will do this by building the skills and confidence of food bank clients, volunteers and staff to campaign locally. Develop and strengthen links with stakeholders, local businesses and referral partners. The Community Engagement Officer will build relationships in the food bank to identify some of the issues driving poverty in the community and to bring people together to take action on those issues. You will work with the team to create briefing papers for funding applications, case studies and other information to inspire people to support our work.
You will develop and lead on campaigns set out by the food bank to create and deliver strategy to win change. This role is funded by Trussell Trust as part of their Organising Programme, and you will be part of a network of Local Organisers around the UK doing this work.

Person Specification
• Experience in working with people with lived experience and providing structures to their meaningful input
• Experience working on or delivering fundraising events and applications
• Experience in inter-agency networking
• Experience of working across teams to ensure alignment and understanding on any given project
• Confident in communicating to a range of audiences from a diverse range of backgrounds.

We are recruiting for a skilled HGV Commercial Vehicle Technician to join the team at our branch in Glenrothes.

The Role

The overall purpose of the role is to carry out general maintenance and repair work on a range of heavy goods vehicles to a high standard. This will be from within our Franchise sectors but may also cover other makes of commercial vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a fresh challenge with a dynamic and rapidly growing company.

The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Working with the service team to maintain and repair customer vehicles.
Fault-finding and diagnostics as directed.
Maintenance of all equipment to the highest standard.
Advising the supervisor of any improvements to enhance reliability and reduce costs.
Carrying out any other reasonable task which may arise.
The key skills and qualities of an HGV Commercial Vehicle Technician:

A good level of technical knowledge, ability and experience in the mechanical repair of HGV commercial vehicles.
LCV Technicians with a desire to upskill also considered.
Ability to organise own workload, work on own initiative and to strict deadlines.
Flexible approach to working hours.
Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
A current full driving Licence.
PC skills and proficiency are preferable.
Manufacturer training will be given to the right candidate and successful applicants will enjoy excellent working conditions as well as a competitive remuneration package.

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative / HGV Driver for our busy commercial vehicle workshop in Glenrothes.


The overall purpose of the role is to assist in the smooth running of the workshop by collecting and delivering customer vehicles and carrying out maintenance and cleaning tasks in the yard and offices.

Areas of responsibility:

Keeping the workshop and yard clean and tidy.
Collecting and delivering customer vehicles including presenting vehicles for HGV MOT’s.
General equipment cleaning including sweeping up, power washing etc.
Waste management - emptying of bins, sorting of recyclables etc.
Any other reasonable task as instructed by the Aftersales Manager and/or Workshop Foreman.

The Role

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a car or commercial vehicle workshop service desk and have a good understanding of the processes involved. Tayside Council on Alcohol are an experienced support provider in Tayside and currently deliver several support services to children, young people and families affected by problematic substance use. This is a test of change partnership project, working alongside vulnerable families in the community area of Dundee.

We are looking for a compassionate, caring, resourceful and passionate individual who can support us in developing our Whole Family Project for children, young people and families impacted by substance use across Dundee city, further embedding the principles of the Promise.

This Project is led by Aberlour, Barnardo’s and Tayside Council on Alcohol in partnership with Dundee City Council Social Work and Education. The Project is funded through Scottish Government National Drugs Mission Fund to improve support and access to services for children, young people and families impacted by drug use. This is a development opportunity with training provided across 3 organisations.

The Family Mentor (FM) will use relationship-based, trauma-informed, therapeutic, and cognitive-behavioral modelling/coaching approaches with families to achieve sustainable positive outcomes. The FM will work with the family to develop a goals-focused Whole Family Approach mentoring plan – covering emotional/practical support; coaching/advice around family relationships/child development/parenting skills; harm reduction.

About the Role

  Brief Description of Duties:

Tayside Council on Alcohol are an experienced support provider in Tayside and currently deliver a number of support services to children, young people, and families. As a resource worker you will work with TCA’s Kith & Kin Service.

As a Resource Worker, you will be responsible for implementing a range of interventions and support measures as part of an integrated package of social support. The service is specifically designed to address the needs of vulnerable families, through intensive support, to enable change in their lives. You will work systemically in delivering a relationship-based programme where frequency, tenacity and creativity are central.

The support is goal focussed intervention where the development of a strong and trusting relationship with the resource worker facilitates the use of modelling/coaching, relationship-based and cognitive-behavioural approaches to be used to achieve sustainable positive outcomes. The service will have an early intervention and a whole family focus.

The key role for this post is the direct delivery of support to families. The post holder will carry a caseload of 6-9 families at any one time, depending on complexity of the family situation and presenting issues. They will directly provide support to the family in their home and in the community. This support will include advice regarding meeting children’s needs,

We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual who can provide life changing support to young people affected by their own or someone else’s substance use in the Angus area. We are looking for a passionate and driven individual who can encourage young people to be empowered and make positive life choices and changes with support. This support may include but is not limited to focussed work around substance use (information and guidance), re-engagement with education, supporting diversion away from anti-social or offending behaviour, focussed work on family and peer relationships and coping techniques.

We specialise in working with particularly vulnerable young people and often more complex case work so your background and training should evidence this in some way. You will also be expected to deliver targeted group sessions as well as information and guidance sessions as required and again, your background should reflect experience of this type of work. You will possess good interpersonal skills, good communications skills, both written and oral, and competency in basic computing and IT. You will be capable of logical thinking, practical problem-solving, objective assessment skills and report writing. You must also be able to motivate and support others.

Applicants will come with demonstrable skills and a track record of supporting complex and vulnerable young people to overcome the trauma and challenges of their lives. They will usually have held a similar demanding role in their respective profession and should have experience of delivering evidence informed approaches in their practice. Resource Workers work with significant autonomy and authority and embrace responsibility and are accountable for their work.

Driving licence and access to a car is essential.
