Briggs Environmental Services Marks 30 Years of Supporting Azerbaijan's Energy Sector

Briggs Environmental Services is celebrating 30 years of operations in Azerbaijan, delivering specialist oil spill response and emergency preparedness services to the country's energy industry.

Since establishing its presence in Azerbaijan in the mid-1990s, the company has become a long-standing provider of environmental response services, supporting major operators across offshore and onshore activities in the Caspian region, including BP and SOCAR.

Operating from its dedicated base in Baku, Briggs Environmental Services provides a comprehensive range of oil spill response services, including:

· response equipment management and maintenance

· Training

· contingency planning support

· emergency exercises and 24/7 response capability

The company also supports preparedness activities through specialist advisory services, documentation updates and participation in incident response exercises.

Over the past three decades, Briggs Environmental Services has played an active role in strengthening oil spill response capability within Azerbaijan, helping clients maintain readiness and supporting the protection of sensitive coastal, land and marine environments.

The company's activities have extended beyond oil spill response, having also managed the fire and rescue team at the Sangachal Terminal on the Caspian Sea, further demonstrating the breadth of expertise available to support the region's energy infrastructure.

A notable feature of Briggs Environmental’s Azerbaijan operation is the steadfast commitment of its workforce. Several members of the team, including Elkhan Mamedov, Karim Zeynalli and Alexey Grinchuk, have worked at Briggs since the beginning of its operations in country, providing continuity, knowledge and operational experience; passing these valuable skills to present and future responders of Azerbaijan.
