CEO Update - July 2026
Celebrating Success, Driving Growth, Championing Fife
It has been another strong month for Fife’s business community. Our Chamber AGM, held at the Adam Smith Theatre, provided an excellent opportunity to reinforce our new strategy and our ambition to support businesses across the region through collaboration, resilience, networking and opportunity.
There have also been some important changes to the Chamber Board. Colin Brown has stepped down as President, and we are delighted to welcome Dawn Watson as our new President, supported by Sheena Doyle as Vice President. On behalf of the Chamber team and Board, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Colin for his outstanding leadership and commitment during his tenure. We also offer a warm welcome and every success to Dawn and Sheena in their new roles.
The political landscape continues to evolve. The Scottish Government is settling into its programme of work, while a new Prime Minister will be in office by the time this newsletter is published. Through our close partnership with both the Scottish Chambers of Commerce and the British Chambers of Commerce network, we will continue to advocate strongly for a growth-focused business agenda.
We are continuing to push for:
- The right conditions for businesses to compete
- Investment in skills and infrastructure
- Meaningful support for innovation and growth
A big thank you to all our members for your continued support and engagement. You are at the heart of everything we do.
Our next major event is the annual Conference and Trade Show, which will take place at the Adam Smith Theatre on 10th September. We have an excellent programme planned and look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible. We look forward to another successful and inspiring day.
Business Priorities
When we speak with our members, the priorities continue to be clear and consistent:
- A competitive and stable tax environment
- A genuine and sustained focus on economic growth
- Investment in skills and workforce development
- Improved infrastructure and connectivity
- Strong support for innovation and business scaling
As such we are working closely with the Scottish Chambers of Commerce to ensure these priorities are heard and acted upon at every level.
Supporting Growth Through Collaboration
We recently surveyed our membership to better understand their views on the future of the region. We look forward to sharing the results and hosting a roundtable discussion in the coming months as we develop what we see as the Future Vision for Fife.
Looking Ahead
There are plenty of exciting opportunities to connect and engage over the coming months, including:
- Behind the Scenes at Kingarrock Hickory Golf, National Trust for Scotland
- Fife Social - Summer Garden Party at Pratis Barns
- Coffee Connections at the Adam Smith Theatre
- Golf Day at Fairmont St Andrews with Dundee & Angus Chamber
- Conference and Trade Show in September
These events are much more than dates in the diary - they are opportunities to connect, collaborate and grow.
We will continue to represent your voice, champion your interests and advocate for the conditions that businesses across Fife need to succeed.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
