CEO Update October 2026
Championing Growth and Opportunity Across Fife
As we move into the final quarter of the year, attention is turning to the economic priorities that will shape the months ahead.
Following the political party conference season, one message has been clear: growth must remain the priority. Businesses need a stable and competitive environment, investment in skills and infrastructure, and support for innovation if we are to unlock economic potential and create prosperity.
Through our work with the Chamber network and key partners, we will continue to ensure that the voice of Fife business is heard.
Behind the Scenes at Flexel International
This month, we were delighted to host a successful Behind the Scenes event at Flexel International, showcasing one of Fife's leading advanced manufacturing businesses.
The event highlighted the innovation, expertise and ambition that exists within our business community, while providing valuable networking opportunities for members. My thanks to the Flexel team for their warm hospitality.
Alfred Dunhill Championships
A key highlight of the month and year was our annual Business Breakfast at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
This year's theme, Health and the Healthy Living Agenda, explored the link between health, productivity and economic success. We were privileged to hear from Stephen Loftus, CEO of Wattbike; Forbes Dunlop, CEO of Sportscotland; Gavin MacLeod, CEO of Disability Sport Scotland; and Alison Ramsay from NHS Fife.
The discussion reinforced a simple but important message: healthier people help create healthier workplaces, stronger communities and a stronger economy.
Representing Fife at Westminster
On 12 October, I was delighted to attend the Amazon Accelerator Awards at the Houses of Parliament, celebrating innovation and entrepreneurship from across the UK.
The event brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs and policymakers, highlighting the importance of creating an environment where businesses can start, grow and succeed. It was an excellent opportunity to represent Fife and bring back insights that can support our business community.
Looking Ahead
Fife continues to demonstrate ambition, resilience and innovation. By working together and maintaining a focus on growth, investment and collaboration, we can create the conditions for long-term success.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and engagement and look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events.
