Edinburgh Airport ACP Consultation Update - Flight Path Consultation Extended to 19 September

13th September 2016

Edinburgh Airport has today announced that it is extending its public consultation on the Airspace Change Programme (ACP) by one week meaning the closing date is now 23:59 on Monday 19th September.

The airport is also making a public plea to people who submitted online input via the consultation website between 10:31am on Monday 29 August and 12:05 pm Friday 2 September to resubmit after 199 pieces of data submitted between these dates were not saved during a planned upgrade of the site.

There have been thousands of responses to date and while the number not saved is small in comparison the airport is committed to ensuring everyone is given the opportunity to have their say. Of those 199, 21 email addresses were captured and the airport will be contacting them directly to explain the situation and request they resubmit.

Gordon Robertson, Edinburgh Airport’s Director of Communications, said:

“Edinburgh Airport has been conducting its Lets Go Further ACP consultation since June this year and has already had an excellent response with thousands of submissions.

“We have identified that responses submitted via the consultation website between 10:31am on Monday 29 August and 12:05 pm Friday 2 September did not save during a planned upgrade of the site.

“Although this is a relatively small number of responses in the context of the overall number of submissions, we are committed to ensuring that all who want to comment on our plans can.

“Despite this 21 email addresses were captured and the airport has this morning responded to them directly to explain the situation and request they resubmit.

“To that end we are asking anyone whose response may therefore not be visible to us to resubmit their views via the website.

“We will extend the consultation by one week with the finish date now being Monday 19th September and we will be contacting all stakeholders to inform them of this extension.

“We apologise wholeheartedly for this and believe that this extension offers sufficient time for people to resubmit their input.”
