FEAT chosen as Recruiter Magazine’s Charity of the Year
The Fife Employment Access Trust (FEAT) has been chosen as Recruiter’s Charity of the Year 2016.
The charity, based in Fife, Scotland, helps people who have experienced mental ill health to develop their employment skills, qualities and values, and present them in application forms, covering letters, CVs and in interviews.
Among the components of the employment programme is mindfulness training, to help relieve clients from unhelpful patterns of thought and emotion. The charity also arranges for employment specialists to be brought into clinical teams to support clients back to work.
FEAT also raises awareness with employers and the general public to reduce discrimination and the stigma around mental health.
“FEAT are delighted to have been named Recruiter Charity of the Year,” the charity's general manager, Duncan Mitchell, told Recruiter. “We work tirelessly to support people with many significant barriers often in daily life, let alone employment… this work is hugely rewarding. However, it is also a great boost to the team to receive UK-wide recognition for our efforts.”
