Fife Business Awards finalists meet up ahead of ceremony
There was a mix of excitement and nervousness in the Chamber team when we arrived at the DoubleTree by Hilton to start setting up for the Fife Business Awards Finalists Reception later that evening.
Excited because everybody in the team enjoys being at the events so much. It doesn’t get better than being in a ‘buzzy’ room with nearly a hundred people with a shared passion meeting each other and talking to each other.
Nervous because this was the inaugural Finalists Reception. We had done our usual, detailed planning and preparation to make sure that everything went smoothly, but when you do an event for the first time, there is always a wee worry that you have forgotten important. Not only was this the first Finalists Reception, we were also working with a sponsor for the first time - The University of Dundee - Graduate Apprenticeship – and giving them a chance to speak to these amazing Fife Businesses about what they are looking to achieve.
But, as it turned out, we had nothing to worry about. The finalists were animated and talkative, having a great time sharing their experiences of the Fife Business Awards with each other. They enjoyed a gin tasting and cocktail making demonstration from Allson Wholesale, along with a drinks reception, buffet and music from Declan Daniel.
When we left the event, we could relax after a job well done. With the Awards Ceremony at the Rothes Halls only a few weeks away, some of the finalists probably left the Finalists Reception with the same combination of excitement and nervousness that we had when we arrived at the DoubleTree a few hours earlier.
The winners will be announced on Friday 29th March where the event will be hosted by Fred MacAulay.
