Fife College Celebrates End of Year Success

11th July 2017

Fife College’s Supported Learning department held a series of Achievement Awards recently to celebrate the end of a successful academic year.

The events took place in various locations across Fife in the space of a week including the College’s Halbeath, St Brycedale, Stenton and Levenmouth campuses and also the Lomond Centre in Glenrothes, Parkgate Community Learning Centre in Rosyth and Lochgelly Town Hall which was organised in partnership with Fife Council.

Each ceremony saw students from various Supported Learning programmes such as Step In, Step Up and Key to Work take to the stage to collect their certificates and celebrate with their classmates.

The guests and students were then able to enjoy a short presentation which highlighted the key moments and events in the students’ courses which happened throughout the year. Various refreshments were also served at the event, prepared by students from the Culinary Arts department.

Curriculum Manager for Supported Learning, Jane Barclay introduced the first event at the College’s Levenmouth Campus and is delighted with its success. Said Jane: “The aim of these events was to celebrate and recognise the achievements and success of our students. I am so proud of each and every student. They have all worked so hard this year and they should all be extremely proud of themselves. “

Vice Principal for Organisational Development and Change, Carol Scott, presented the certificates to the students at the Levenmouth event and congratulated them on their achievements. Said Carol: “It was fantastic to see so many people attending the event including parents and friends of the students and our partners from the community. This event is a testament to all the students’ hard work and I wish them every success for the future.”

Applications are open now for courses beginning at Fife College in August including Step In and Step Up. For further details visit www.fife.ac.uk or call 0344 2480115.
