Fife College congratulates former student Owen on Paralympic gold
Fife College has congratulated former student Owen Miller after he won gold at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
Competing in the 1500 metres in the T20 category, Owen upset the pre-race favourites to win in a time of 3 minutes and 54 seconds.
The 29 year-old hails from Dunfermline and studied Hospitality Management at Fife College after attending Woodmill High School.
After his success, Fife College Principal Hugh Hall hailed Owen’s victory and the example he was setting for other athletes in Fife.
Fife College Principal Dr Hugh Hall said:
“On behalf of everyone at Fife College I want to congratulate Owen on his tremendous victory.
“Everyone here is so happy for him, and this is just reward after all of the effort he’s put in over the years.
“He ran a brilliant race, and by taking home the gold he’s made his country and everyone in Fife proud.
“It’s a brilliant example for any other athletes in the region, and I’m sure there will be many who will be inspired by his achievements.”
