Fife company, Planys launches Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to help small businesses

Fife consulting & technology company, Planys is launching an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to run from mid-November until Christmas. The campaign’s mission is to help Micro Businesses with a peer support network and a suite of apps that will help them run their own small business. One of the apps will help Micro Businesses and their bookkeepers digitise their books as HMRC progresses with Making Tax Digital.

Planys co-founder Joe Henry explains, “Everyone knows someone who runs a small business and knows how hard they work, tackling difficult issues alone. Our mission is to build a social platform so that small businesses can talk to each other and ask for advice while giving them a collective voice and representation. There are over 5.1 million micro businesses in the UK who contribute £1.8 trillion to the economy but often they don’t seem to get the recognition and support they deserve.

We've already self-funded two apps and we’re now seeking funding to build this home for all small businesses across the UK. We hope people will want to help small businesses by contributing to the campaign and/or sharing the link”

Contributors to the campaign - contributions can range from as little as £10 - will become members of the community. Rather than talking to small business advisers they’ll be able to get concrete, practical advice from owners that have already tackled the issues now facing them. They will also get the apps that will help them manage their business. Bookkeepers can contribute £250 giving them 5 client licenses for a year, normally worth £600.

The Business Hound app helps small businesses get on top of mileage, expenses, invoicing and their bookkeeping for the end-of-the-financial year while the SalesCraft app is a personal sales coach that helps you manage sales, track enquiries, close deals, get advice from others and read guides on sales best practice.
