Fife Fabrications: Celebrating 50 years of making the difference
Leading UK precision sheet metal work manufacturer, Fife Fabrications (Fifab), has reason to celebrate as it achieves 50 years in business in 2022, having been in operation since 1972.
For 50 years Fife Fabrications has remained one of the most advanced manufacturers of precision sheet metalwork, electromechanical assemblies, and precision machined components in the UK, offering a complete service from design for manufacture support, to manufacturing and full customer delivery. In 2022, the business is pleased to be celebrating its 50th anniversary at the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics event in Farnborough.
Working to deliver dedicated sector expertise, high quality products and first-class service for every customer, the team provides an approach to building relationships that generates a seamless and integrated offering for its customers across the UK. Testament to this are the long-lasting customer relationships, some of which have lasted over 30 years.
Based in Glenrothes, with strong links to Developing the Young Workforce in Fife and a commitment to improving Fife’s offering to young people through its business community, Fife Fabrications has a long history of supporting the development of local talent in the region. The continual investment made in lean manufacturing, people development and processes mean that it can offer its services at the lowest possible overall acquisition cost and create a cost-effective service for its customers, whilst also creating local jobs and development opportunities for its employees.
Like most businesses, having recently undergone a challenging period during the Covid-19 pandemic, the team responded swiftly to ensure a strong business recovery plan with a range of security and safety measures. This included the introduction of shift work, home working and factory process modifications, to ensure the business was able to both service its customers and safeguard its staff, whilst ensuring it creates a positive position from which the business can continue to flourish in the years to come.
Looking to build on its fifty years of success, Fife Fabrications’ Managing Director, John Penman, is pleased to be celebrating a milestone birthday for the business. He said,
“We’re delighted to have stayed in business for 50 years and to have used that time to develop local talent, regularly engage with our community and build long-lasting relationships with our customers. Our aim is to further build our capabilities and expertise to continue to provide customer service, which is a cut above. I’d like to thank our customers, our team, our suppliers and our local community for supporting Fifab to get to this milestone. We will continue to invest in our growth, our community, our people and in young talent to support the upskilling of the next generation. Not only does this ensure we can create local opportunities for our Fife-based workforce and develop a fantastic team, but it also allows us to build a pipeline of skilled and talented experts who will deliver for our customers for the next fifty years!”
