K107FM Proud to Support ASA National Awareness Campaign

18th September 2026

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is in the midst of its latest national campaign to raise public awareness of the UK’s advertising rules, with Kirkcaldy based K107FM and UK Community Radio Network (UKCRN) radio stations across the country joining as key supporters.

Building on successful activity in recent years, the campaign once again uses bold, slogan-led creative to remind audiences that UK ads across all media are regulated to be legal, decent, honest and truthful. This year, the message will reach even deeper into local communities, with community radio stations donating airtime to help ensure listeners understand who regulates the ads they see and hear every day.

The ASA’s national campaign continues to be powered by donated media space from partners across the advertising ecosystem, and the continued support of community radio further strengthens this collaborative model. Stations serving towns, villages and rural areas often underserved by other media will carry the ASA’s message, helping to widen the campaign’s footprint and reinforce trust in advertising at a local level.

An ASA spokesperson said:

“We're really grateful for the fantastic support from UKCRN and the network of community stations who are generously donating space for our latest national ad campaign. At their best, UK ads across media are famed for their creativity and ability to entertain, inform and have impact; they also help drive the economy. They are effective because consumers and businesses can trust what they see and hear. Behind that is the ASA, keeping ads legal, decent, honest and truthful. As always, we say a big thanks to our ad partners who have once again lent us their famous slogans and to the community radio network for supporting our campaign, letting their listeners know that UK ads are regulated.”

Alex Airnes, K107FM, added:

“K107FM is excited to again be working with the ASA with their latest campaign. From being the first community radio station in the country to support the campaign, to working alongside the UK Community Radio Network and highlighting that trust in advertising is just as important for Community Radio as much as any other platform is significant

The fact we often reach communities underserved by other media means their message gets to ears that otherwise might not hear it.”

When people know UK ads are regulated, they’re more likely to trust them. That’s why K107FM is backing the Advertising Standards Authority's latest awareness campaign, alongside the Advertising Association, Leith and WPP Media's EssenceMediacom.

For K107FM, the campaign reinforces their role as a trusted local broadcaster who can help connect audiences with important local and national information. For listeners, it offers reassurance that the ads they encounter whether online, on TV, or on their local station are subject to clear rules designed to protect them.
