New Director General at the British Chambers of Commerce
Shevaun Haviland appointed Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce
Shevaun Haviland has joined the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) from the UK Government Cabinet Office. She first joined the Government in 2016, having previously worked in the private sector, including the Walt Disney Company.
Commenting on Shevaun’s appointment as Director General, Alan Mitchell, Chief Executive of Fife Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are looking forward to working with Shevaun. The BCC has played a critical role supporting Fife’s Chamber members during the pandemic by giving them a voice with the UK Government that they would not have had otherwise. Behind the scenes, and using its relationships and influence with the Government, built up over many years, the BCC made the case powerfully for increased financial support for businesses affected by covid and lockdown. The UK Government needs a clear strategy to help businesses recover from the pandemic and Shevaun and her team at the BCC will once again be powerful advocates for Fife at the highest levels of decision making.”
