New Glasgow Stagecoach Express Route via Livingston for South Fife

1st May 2018

Stagecoach have announced plans to extend their X51 service which currently operates between Fife and Livingston, to continue into Glasgow from Monday 14 May 2018.

The Express City Connect X51 will offer links up to every hour between Dunfermline, Rosyth, Ferrytoll park and ride, South Queensferry, Kirkliston, Livingston, Harthill, Eurocentral and Glasgow Buchanan bus station - providing a limited stop luxury coach journey throughout.

The X51 route will be operated by express coaches, which form part of the award winning Express City Connect network from Stagecoach East Scotland. The coaches are wheelchair accessible and offer leather seating, free wifi access, air conditioning and luggage compartments.

Paul Thomas, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said: "Our award winning Express City Connect coach network offers luxury and great value travel and we're pleased this route will also benefit our current customers living in areas across South Fife, providing them with a link to Glasgow without having to make the journey to Halbeath park and ride or Dunfermline bus station."

The service will operate 7 days a week, allowing customers to commute to Livingston, the central business area Maxim Park at Eurocentral and Glasgow city centre whilst weekend day trippers can also enjoy a hassle free journey to The Centre, Livingston for a day at the shops.

For villages in South Fife, the route could provide a quicker journey to Glasgow without the need to change buses at Dunfermline or Halbeath P&R, or customers could use the interchange point at Ferrytoll P&R to leave cars behind as an alternative.

Stagecoach have confirmed that the range of Stagecoach ticket types can be used on the route, within the relevant ticket boundaries. The Fife dayrider/megarider plus tickets currently provide value for money for those commuting between Fife and Livingston and the zone boundaries will be extended slightly to include all new stops in Livingston. The East Scotland dayrider/megarider ticket zones continue to offer travel from Fife to Glasgow for £15.60 for a day ticket, or £45.20 for a 7 day megarider ticket, providing unlimited travel on the full network of services across East Scotland.
