New Stagecoach Bus Link to Scotland’s Secret Bunker
Stagecoach have announced plans for a new bus route to Scotland’s Secret Bunker to run throughout the school holidays.
The new service will provide new bus links directly to the entrance of the popular tourist attraction, with journeys running from Leven, Anstruther and St Andrews.
The route, numbered 93, will allow people to discover the twilight world of the Government Cold War at the Secret Bunker. Located near Anstruther, the Bunker lies 100ft below ground and is encased in 15ft of reinforced concrete.
The new service will run Monday to Saturday from Monday 2 July to Saturday 11 August 2018, allowing handy return journeys to the site from the East Neuk, maximising visit time at the Bunker.
Stagecoach have confirmed that single fares and dayrider tickets can be purchased from the driver or dayrider tickets can be purchased on the Stagecoach Bus app. For unlimited travel all day around St Andrews and as far as the Secret Bunker, a St Andrews dayrider plus ticket provides the best value for money. For unlimited travel across Fife, a Fife dayrider ticket costs just £9.10 and offers great value for people travelling to the Bunker from across Fife, with connections available at Leven or St Andrews bus stations. Group tickets and fares for kids are also available.
Paul Thomas, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said: "With our plans to introduce the direct new 93 service to Scotland’s Secret Bunker, we are sure it will be a huge success with both tourists and locals. With the school holidays approaching, we hope we can encourage people to do something different this summer by visiting Scotland’s best kept secret!”
Kirsty Weir , Marketing Manager, Scotland's Secret Bunker, "We are delighted to work together with Stagecoach on this joint initiative, allowing visitors to the area who do not have their own transport or would just like the enjoyment of travelling by bus to explore all that Scotland's Secret Bunker has to offer, whilst sitting back, relaxing and taking in all the beautiful scenery of the wonderful East Neuk of Fife".
