seescape join forces to strengthen support services

12th June 2020

Seescape and Sight and Sound Technology are joining forces once again to ensure that our service users are being supported during this difficult time.

In this session entitled ‘All About Android’ on Thursday 18th June, Sam will be joined by ‘The Two Stuarts’ who will be exploring some of the possibilities that Android makes available to braille users for use at home, on the go, at school or in the workplace.

Stuart Beveridge from Seescape will take us on a tour of the many features the Polaris has to offer. We will investigate the Google Play Store and look at downloading third-party applications as well as the functionality and practical use of the Google Assistant feature.

Sight and Sound’s own Braille expert, Stuart Lawler will also be on-hand to answer any questions relating to our product range.

This session is also suited to teachers, parents and others who support users and who wish to improve their understanding of accessible braille devices. As always there will be lots of time for discussion, so bring along your questions and we’ll be happy to answer them!

If you would like some assistance with your existing products, if you would like to hear more about the latest and most advanced assistive technology or if you would just like to have a chat then please join us for our upcoming online social hub event. “For most people, technology makes things easier. For those with a disability, it makes things possible!”

Now more than ever assistive technology is invaluable to those with sight loss or a visual impairment. We have a solution that could be hugely beneficial to you or a family member so please do come and join other AT users as they share their own experiences and learn a few tips and tricks along the way…

During this time we know that people can become anxious about their eyesight, missed eye tests and who to contact. The Optician at seescape is Scotland’s only charity run optician service and is available for telephone and video triage calls. seescape is also the recognised service provider for sight support services in Fife. If you would like to discuss any aspect of eye care speak to us at 01592 644979 or [email protected]
