Stagecoach Opens the Doors of Dunfermline Depot on Saturday 19 May
This May, the Stagecoach bus depot on St Leonards Street in Dunfermline marks 100 years of existence! Initially a functioning tram depot, then bus depot, the garage has been servicing Fife for a whole century. To celebrate this milestone, Stagecoach are opening the garage doors for a running day, packed full of heritage fleet displays and family activities on Saturday 19 May.
To celebrate, attendees can visit a wide range of stalls, sing-along with Kingdom FM presenters live on stage and inspect Stagecoach's latest £2.7 million fleet investment with one of the company’s new coaches on display.
Catering to all ages, those heading to the event can also:
- Enjoy a fascinating engineering display
- Reminisce with an array of depot photos, memorabilia and vintage vehicles
- Get more information on Stagecoach careers and local bus services
- Let the kids loose to enjoy the onsite bouncy castle, balloon modeller and face painter.
- Get up close to a range of vehicles and initiatives by the emergency services
Set to be a great day out with the family, running from 10am to 4pm, the open day is free for all, with regular shuttle buses running from Dunfermline bus station and Halbeath P&R to the depot all day.
Paul Thomas, Managing Director at Stagecoach East Scotland said: "We're delighted to be opening our doors at Dunfermline depot for a day. This will give our customers insight into how a depot is run day to day, learn more about their local buses past and present, with fun activities for the whole family to enjoy."
Stagecoach will run a free vintage shuttle bus service from Halbeath park and ride and Dunfermline bus station on the day, the timetable for this shuttle is available to view on the company’s website.
