Stewart Elder, Fairmont St Andrews - MIA List 2016: Conference and Events Professional of the Year

Fairmont St Andrews are delighted to announce that Stewart Elder, Director of Banquets & Events, has received the MIA List 2016: Conference and Events Professional of the Year.

Stewart (34) grew up in Kirkcaldy, Fife, and in his six years at Fairmont St Andrews, has successfully worked his way from sales executive to director of group sales, onto his current position. Stewart plays an integral part within the events and banquet teams, ensuring all FRHI standards and processes are met. With more than 70 hotels globally, the Fairmont collection boasts some of the world’s most iconic hotels.

Among Stewart’s responsibilities where he leads a team of 32, Stewart co-ordinates budgets for Fairmont St Andrews conference, banquets and events division, as well as managing all site visit and FAM trips.

On winning the award Stewart Elder commented: “I’m delighted to have been acknowledged in a very competitive and diverse field in the meetings and events industry. I was thrilled with the nomination and to have won an award and join the MIA list is such an honour.
