Super Troopers storm home for local charity
An intrepid team from Thomson Cooper have raised a whopping £1,400 for Fife Kidney Support Group recently at a gruelling Tough Mudder event in Thornhill, near Dumfries on June 16th.
The Thomson Cooper Troopers braved the punishing 10-mile course that involved navigating 24 of the ‘biggest, baddest, most epic’ obstacles in the industry. Not for the faint hearted, their challenge included crawling and hauling their way across tonnes of mud and dodging electrified wires. Funds were also raised through selling cakes donated by Jenny Lee of Edinburgh’s Blue Bear Café, along with a hefty contribution from the Thomson Cooper Partners at their recent staff summer outing.
Fife Kidney Support Group is a registered charitable organisation set up in 2003 to help sufferers of kidney disease in Fife. Their aim is to provide support and social activities, and to promote the organ donor register scheme.
Managing Partner David Walker was impressed with his staffs’ perseverance adding, “This was a serious undertaking and I’m proud of the team spirit they displayed. The Fife Kidney Support Group are our nominated charity of the year and we are delighted to support our team in their fundraising efforts. This event ties in with our Healthy Working Lives initiative and illustrates our staff’s commitment to contributing to our local communities.”
