Christmas Panto season is upon us and once again Fife Cultural Trust is showcasing a magical line up of Christmas pantos and shows in Fife’s theatres to help get Christmas off to a magical start for the whole family.

The big panto this year is the magical adventure pantomime ‘Aladdin’ which is being staged at the Adam Smith Theatre from Saturday 9th December 2017 until Saturday 6th January 2018. The Adam Smith Theatre, in association with Imagine Theatre, will deliver to its audiences a real Christmas delight with spectacular scenery, breath-taking costumes, stunning special effects, fabulous song and dance routines and hilarious slap stick comedy. Across the Kingdom, at Dunfermline’s renowned Carnegie Hall, step into a very special Christmas festival with ‘A Tiny Little Christmas’ which is bursting with Christmas magic, festive films, enchanting theatre pieces and captivating workshops. On from 7th December until 23rd December, choose from three beautiful bespoke theatre pieces, Shhh......The Elves Are Shy, Little Ulla and The Attic which will captivate young and old audiences alike. The festival includes cinema screenings of Christmas favourites, Elf, Home Alone and It’s a Wonderful Life. Add to your Christmas experience with a Tiny Little Arts Workshop where tiny little hands can get Christmas crafty by making felt puppets and tiny pompoms which is sure to engage creative minds and cover them in a bit of sparkle…… and don't forget Santa's Grotto. All events can be booked individually or combine these events and buy a Festival Ticket. Workshops run from 10am - 1pm & 1.30pm - 4.30pm allowing for drop in!!!

Over in Glenrothes, there is an exciting line-up of Christmas specials being performed at the Rothes Halls. On until Friday 1st December, Fife’s favourite children’s entertainers, The Funbox team invite you to come along to their brand new festive show SANTA’S FUNTASTIC FACTORY and are ready to make all your Christmas wishes come true! Packed with singalong favourites like “I Saw Three Ships” “The Animals went in 2 by 2”, and “Jingle Bells” along with Christmas classics and brand new songs, SANTA’S FANTASTIC FACTORY is festive family fun not to be missed. There’s chances to help on stage and who knows, you might even see Santa… But only if you’ve been good!

Herald in the Yuletide festivities on Wednesday 13th December at the Rothes Halls with Buddy Holly & The Cricketers, the Christmas show that is now as traditional as mulled wine and mince pies! Holly’s hits, other contemporary classics and some Christmas crackers are all wrapped up in a fast, furious and funny feast of entertainment to make the perfect gift for all the family.

The panto, Ali Baba and the Seven Thieves, by Ron Nicol and performed by the Glenrothes Theatre Company promises to be a great Christmas night out for all the family. On at the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes from Wednesday 13th December until Saturday 16th December book now to see this much-loved tale from The Arabian Nights.

On Thursday 14th December ABBAMANIA, the UK’s original ABBA tribute band, will be coming to the Rothes Hall performing Abbamania’s Christmas Show. Re-live the memories of ABBA with this special Christmas tribute show. Come along for a fabulous night out dancing in the aisles.

On Wednesday 20th December, romantic Christmas special, ‘Christmas Crooners’ is jam packed with festive favourites including Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole and Ol’ Blue Eyes himself – Frank Sinatra. Staged in the warm and delightful style of the famous Andy Williams Christmas Shows, this brilliant production comes complete with Christmas Trees, a Rocking Chair and of course a lovely warm fireplace, just right for roasting those chestnuts and toasting the season! Guaranteed to get you in the festive mood, come and sing along to great songs from Christmas past with the Christmas Crooners.

In Lochgelly choose from two well loved Christmas pantomimes. Cowdenbeath Community Theatre presents Hansel & Gretel which runs from Wednesday 6th December until Saturday 9th December. Lochgelly High School proudly presents this year’s 2017 production of Cinderella which runs from Tuesday 19th December until Thursday 21 December.

And don’t forget Santa’s Grotto….take your little elves to a fabulous get together with Father Christmas this year, where they'll enjoy a memorable encounter.
