Team Kingdom wins Lintel Trust golf tournament 2018
A team of golfers from Kingdom Housing Association are the Lintel Trust champions for 2018 after winning the Trust‘s 24th annual golf tournament.
The tournament, a popular fundraising event, was held on June 15 this year, at the 18-hole West Course at the Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club. Players enjoyed some friendly competition before a three-course meal and taking part in a charity raffle.
Scott Kirkpatrick, Richard Murdoch and Moray Glennie (pictured left to right) represented Kingdom at the tournament and picked up the Lintel Cup.
And, on behalf of the winning team, Scott said: “We were delighted to win the Lintel Cup and would like to thank Cruden Homes, the Lintel Trust and Dalmahoy for organising such an excellent event. It was a great day from start to finish and all for such a worthwhile cause.”
The Lintel Cup was sponsored by Cruden Homes and 11 teams took part, attracting players of all levels.
Kingdom Group beat 3 Putt (Lintel Trust) to the trophy this year with the Goldseal team a narrow third place due to having an inferior back nine holes.
The Individual Prize was won by Douglas Brown from Link Housing (closely followed by Scott Kirkpatrick at Kingdom and Link’s Neil Hall), while Douglas Brown and Neil Hall took home Nearest the Pin awards.
Around £5,518 was raised for charity through the event, with proceeds going to help Lintel provide support to voluntary organisations and local communities throughout Scotland to help provide solutions for people in housing need.
Lintel Trust extended its thanks the sponsors Cruden, Kingdom Housing Association and Sidey as well as the teams for attending and for the selection of prizes donated to the charity raffle.
Kate Christie, senior business development officer at Lintel Trust, said: “We’re delighted with how well the day went. Everyone had a great time and we raised a fantastic amount too. Thanks to the generosity of the teams and sponsors, we will be able to help more community projects across Scotland.”
