Ten Years of Foodie Fun at Fife College Food and Drink Festival
Fife College is marking a major milestone as its much-loved Food and Drink Festival returns for its tenth anniversary on Saturday, 14 March 2026. Taking place at the College’s Kirkcaldy Campus from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm, the festival forms part of Fife Food and Drink Week (7–15 March) and promises a vibrant celebration of the very best local produce, culinary talent and hands-on foodie experiences. To mark the tenth anniversary, Colin McPhail, Fife College lecturer and owner of The Baker’s Apprentice on Kirkcaldy High Street, has created a special commemorative cake celebrating a decade of foodie success. He was supported in creating the cake by the College’s talented Bakery students. Over the past ten years, the festival has grown into one of the highlights of the region’s food calendar, attracting visitors from across Fife and beyond. This year’s special anniversary event will feature more than 25 food and drink stalls, showcasing an array of local producers and street food favourites. A packed programme of live demonstrations will see leading chefs share their skills and inspiration too. Among them is Jamie Scott, winner of BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals and now a lecturer at Fife College, alongside Lewis Mendies of BaxterStorey. Their demonstrations will highlight the creativity and expertise nurtured within the College’s Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Events department. BaxterStorey, the College’s catering partner, will also be part of the festival’s food offering on the day, serving up a selection of dishes and supporting the vibrant range of food available to visitors alongside local producers and street food vendors. Visitors can also take part in a series of interactive workshops throughout the day, including:
Families are warmly encouraged to attend, with children’s cookery workshops, face-painting and outdoor attractions ensuring there is something for all ages. Food lovers can also enjoy small plates at The Academy, Fife College’s student-run training restaurant, offering an opportunity to experience the high standards delivered by the College’s hospitality students. A range of food trucks will also be on site, serving up delicious street food throughout the day. Tables at The Academy can be booked online here.
