V&A Partner with Shackleton Technologies for IT Support
Design Dundee were originally working from managed offices in Abertay University and Scottish Enterprise Dundee’s offices and the initial requirement was to support the organisation in its quest to open the City’s most eagerly anticipated landmark.
Throughout our journey with Design Dundee Ltd. we have worked closely with their staff, building management company and 3rd party contractors to deliver a number of key solutions prior to the opening of the building including:
- Backbone network infrastructure
- Staff and Guest Wireless
- Telephony
- Point of Sale Systems
- CCTV
- Visitor Counting System
- Building Management Systems
We also designed and implemented their new server infrastructure, which runs the various line of business applications used for the day to day running of the organisation and the museum itself.
It’s been great for us to see the building transition from a shell into the stunning structure and landmark it is now. We’re particularly proud that our contribution has been recognised in the testimonial below and that some of the key team involved in the delivery of our projects and services were invited to a drinks reception prior to the grand opening.
Jamie Gray Digital Manager of V&A commented “We can’t thank the Shackleton team enough for all their help over the last few months. With the pressures from the pace of the project, the team has been fantastic and stepped up every time we have needed them to. Those that have moved into the new V&A building have nothing but praise for the IT infrastructure that is in place so far, and this has carried over to an incredibly successful launch weekend. For a project like this, with the pressure everyone is under, that is an amazing achievement. The Shackleton team has been an integral part of the project’s success”.
