The Vine Conference Centre is going GREEN

22nd January 2019

After the Vine Conference Centre attended a 'Green Champions' training day with resource Efficient Scotland - Tim Thomson - Venue Manager along with his Assistant manager - Andrew Hubbocks are now on a mission.

Tim has been in contact with Plastic free Dunfermline's James Daw to look at ways to reduce plastic within the venue and are working towards a 'Plastic free' accreditation.

Following a recent audit the Vine has now converted the majority of their rooms from fluorescent tubes to LED lighting and are looking to do this across the whole venue.

Another great idea to help combat waste is encouraging customers to bring their own coffee mugs (with the benefit of extra loyalty stamps toward a free coffee)

The Vine has also installed a mains fed water dispenser for customers/members of the public to pop in to fill up their bottles. This is through the Refill group.

The Refill movement is expanding across the U.K and The Vine Conference Centre has joined the refill revolution.

Tim goes on to say ‘We are a proud supporter of Refill, combating plastic pollution and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle by signing-up businesses to the Refill app.

Simply pop into our foyer area with your water bottle and fill up with cool, fresh scottish water.’
